About Vacuum Brazing Furnace

Vacuum Brazing Furnace manufactured by United Enterprises is a precision vacuum furnace built for brazing of heat exchangers, aerospace components, electronic assemblies and high-end industrial parts in flux-free, oxidation-free conditions.

Brief Description:

Vacuum brazing eliminates the need for flux and produces clean, void-free joints ideal for stainless steel, aluminium, titanium and specialty alloy assemblies. Our Vacuum Brazing Furnaces feature high-vacuum pumping systems, graphite or refractory-metal heating elements, multilayer insulation and gas quench capability.

Both horizontal and vertical configurations are offered, with multi-zone temperature control and PLC / SCADA-based recipe management. Aerospace-grade designs meet AMS 2750 and similar standards.

Each unit is engineered around the customers assembly, filler metal and joint quality target.

Characteristics:

  • Designed for flux-free vacuum brazing
  • Maximum temperature up to 1400C
  • Working vacuum down to 10 mbar
  • Graphite or refractory metal heating elements
  • Multilayer insulation package
  • Gas quench up to 6 bar with nitrogen or argon
  • Horizontal or vertical configurations
  • AMS 2750 compliant design (on request)

FAQs:

Q: Why vacuum brazing?

A: For flux-free, oxidation-free joints with excellent surface finish essential for aerospace and electronics.

Q: Which alloys can be vacuum brazed?

A: Stainless steel, aluminium, titanium, copper alloys, nickel alloys and many specialty materials design depends on filler metal.

Q: Do you support cycle development?

A: Yes. Trial brazing cycles and joint validation are part of commissioning.

Advanced Vacuum Technology

Benefit from ultimate vacuum levels (5 x 10^-4 mbar) and high-purity inert gas cooling capabilities. The furnace minimizes contamination and oxidation during the brazing or heat treatment process, ensuring clean and reliable joints.

Superior Temperature Control

Achieve consistent results with precise temperature uniformity of 5C, managed by a sophisticated PLC with HMI system. The furnace supports both fully automatic and semi-automatic operation modes for user-friendly control and reliable process management.

Customizable Industrial Solution

Designed to accommodate various part sizes and weights, the vacuum brazing furnace can be tailored to specific application requirements. Both chamber dimensions and loading options are configurable, making it suitable for a wide range of industries.

FAQ's of Vacuum Brazing Furnace:

Q: How does the vacuum brazing furnace ensure uniform heating during operation?

A: The furnace utilizes advanced graphite or molybdenum heating elements and precise PLC temperature control to provide even heat distribution, maintaining a uniformity within 5C throughout the chamber.

Q: What materials can be processed in this furnace and for which applications is it commonly used?

A: The furnace is suitable for brazing and heat treating various metals under high vacuum or inert gas atmospheres. Typical applications include joining sensitive components, aerospace parts, and high-precision industrial tools.

Q: When is it recommended to use inert gas cooling instead of conventional cooling?

A: Inert gas cooling (using argon or nitrogen) is preferred when oxidation or contamination of parts must be minimized, especially after high-temperature brazing cycles, to achieve cleaner, passivated surfaces.

Q: Where can this furnace be installed and what utilities are required for operation?

A: Designed for industrial environments, the furnace requires access to 380 V or 415 V electrical supply, water for cooling, and inert gas lines for optional atmosphere control. Placement should allow sufficient space for front or bottom loading as per model.

Q: What is the process for controlling the furnace during a typical brazing operation?

A: Operators set process parameters via the user-friendly PLC with HMI interface, selecting automatic or semi-automatic cycles. Safety features such as vacuum interlock and emergency stop guarantee secure operation throughout the process.

Q: How does the safety system protect users and equipment during operation?

A: Safety is prioritized with integrated over temperature protection, vacuum interlocks, emergency stop buttons, and robust chamber designs to prevent incidents and ensure reliable operation under demanding conditions.

Q: What are the benefits of choosing a fully automatic vacuum brazing furnace for industrial use?

A: A fully automatic furnace minimizes operational errors, enhances process consistency, increases productivity, and enables remote monitoring. It is energy efficient and reduces the need for manual intervention, ensuring high-quality, repeatable results.
