About Vacuum Heat Treatment Furnace

Vacuum Heat Treatment Furnace manufactured by United Enterprises is a high-end heat treatment furnace built for vacuum hardening, tempering, annealing and stress relieving of premium components.

Brief Description:

Vacuum heat treatment offers superior surface finish, freedom from oxidation and tight distortion control. Our Vacuum Heat Treatment Furnaces are built with high-vacuum pumping systems, graphite or refractory-metal heating elements, multilayer insulation and integrated gas quench.

Both horizontal and vertical configurations are offered, with multi-zone temperature control, PLC / SCADA recipe management and full data logging. Quench gas options include nitrogen and argon, at pressures from 2 bar to 12 bar and beyond.

Each unit is engineered around the customers part mix, atmosphere and metallurgical target meeting AMS 2750 and similar aerospace standards where required.

Characteristics:

  • Maximum temperature up to 1400C / 1600C
  • Working vacuum down to 10 mbar (HV)
  • Graphite or refractory metal heating elements
  • Multilayer insulation package
  • Gas quench up to 6 bar / 12 bar with nitrogen or argon
  • Horizontal or vertical configurations
  • AMS 2750 compliant design (on request)
  • Multi-zone PLC and SCADA temperature control

About United Enterprises:

United Enterprises is a recognised Vacuum Heat Treatment Furnace manufacturer in India with over 25+ years of experience in vacuum and controlled-atmosphere heat treatment. We design, manufacture, supply, export and commission tailor-made vacuum heat treatment furnaces across Asia and Europe. Our turnkey approach, in-house design and CE / ISO compliant manufacturing support aerospace, defence, medical and tool-making industries.

FAQs:

Q: Do you support AMS 2750 compliance?

A: Yes. Calibration, temperature uniformity surveys and documentation are aligned with AMS 2750 for aerospace customers.

Q: Which quench gas nitrogen or argon?

A: Nitrogen is most common and economical. Argon is used for nitrogen-sensitive alloys and certain titanium / specialty applications.

Q: Do you support cycle development?

A: Yes. Trial cycles and metallurgical validation are part of commissioning.

Precision and Efficiency for Industrial Metal Treatment

Engineered for uniform heating and programmable process control, this vacuum heat treatment furnace delivers exceptional temperature accuracy and stable operation. Its advanced insulation and digital control system minimize energy consumption while providing high consistency in metal hardening, annealing, and tempering. Available in capacities up to 1500 kg per batch and suitable for both single and multi-zone configurations, it is designed for a wide variety of industrial metal and alloy treatment requirements.

Advanced Control and Safety Systems

With a fully digital PLC-based system and responsive touch panel, operators can easily program and monitor the entire heat treatment cycle. Safety is integrated throughout with multiple interlocks and over-temperature protection, ensuring reliable performance and safeguarding both product and personnel during all stages of operation.

FAQ's of Vacuum Heat Treatment Furnace:

Q: How does the vacuum atmosphere improve the heat treatment process?

A: The high vacuum (10^-4 to 10^-6 mbar) atmosphere significantly reduces oxidation and contamination during the heat treatment process, resulting in cleaner surfaces, enhanced mechanical properties, and improved product quality for metals and alloys.

Q: What materials can be processed in this furnace, and for what applications?

A: This furnace is designed for heat treatment of a range of metals and alloys, including steel, titanium, nickel, and others. Typical applications include hardening, annealing, and tempering operations required in automotive, aerospace, tool-making, and machinery manufacturing industries.

Q: When should I use inert gas instead of vacuum during operations?

A: Inert gases are used when specific processes require a controlled atmosphere to prevent unwanted chemical reactions, such as carburizing or decarburizing. Using inert gas in place of vacuum can also help to tailor the furnace environment to material-specific requirements.

Q: Where can this furnace be installed, and what are the facility requirements?

A: This furnace is suitable for installation in industrial settings such as manufacturing plants or metallurgical facilities. Essential requirements include adequate space for the customizable dimensions, water supply for cooling, and access to suitable electrical power (220V, 380V, or 415V, as specified).

Q: What are the benefits of having programmable controls and multi-zone heating?

A: Programmable controls ensure precise temperature management, repeatability, and flexible process customization. Multi-zone heating enhances temperature uniformity throughout large or complex workloads, ensuring superior quality and consistency in treated parts.

Q: How does the water-cooled chamber jacket contribute to the furnace's operation?

A: The water-cooled chamber jacket maintains structural integrity and thermal stability by preventing overheating, which extends equipment lifespan and enhances operational safety during high-temperature cycles.
