About Bright Annealing Line
Bright Annealing Line manufactured by United Enterprises is a complete continuous heat treatment line for bright annealing of stainless steel, copper and other alloy strips/tubes in a reducing atmosphere.
Brief Description:
Our Bright Annealing Lines are widely used for stainless steel pipes, tubes, wires and sheets where a clean, oxide-free surface is critical. The furnace section operates under cracked ammonia (75% Hydrogen + 25% Nitrogen) or other reducing gas to prevent surface oxidation and to deliver a bright, scale-free finish.
We are among the few manufacturers in India with in-house capability to design and supply the complete line including the bright annealing furnace, ammonia cracker, dew point analyser, quench system and recoiler. The line is engineered for continuous operation with tight temperature control (1C) and uniform heating zones.
For specialised applications, we also offer batch-type bright annealing configurations. Each line is customized for the customers product range and production rate.
Characteristics:
- Continuous bright annealing in cracked ammonia / hydrogen atmosphere
- Indigenous in-house design of furnace plus gas generators
- Automatic temperature regulation with 1C precision
- Dew Point meter, gas train and analysers for atmosphere control
- Low-density high-quality insulation for heat retention
- Available in both electrical and high-efficiency gas-fired versions
- Customizable furnace length and kilowatt rating based on output
- Fully automated SCADA system with improved data collection

FAQs:
Q: How do I choose the right Bright Annealing Line for my product?
A: Selection is based on material grade (SS 300/400 series, Cu alloys), product form (wire, strip, tube), required throughput and surface finish. Our team helps finalize chamber size, atmosphere capacity and line speed accordingly.
Q: Why is cracked ammonia preferred over pure hydrogen?
A: Cracked ammonia (75% H + 25% N) is significantly more economical than bottled hydrogen while providing an effective reducing atmosphere for most bright annealing applications.
Q: What kind of after-sales service do you provide?
A: We offer full erection, commissioning, operator training and AMC services along with quick spare part dispatch for the furnace, cracker and instrumentation.

FAQ's of Bright Annealing Line:
Q: How does the Bright Annealing Line achieve a mirror or bright surface finish on stainless steel?
A: The line uses a controlled atmosphere of hydrogen or nitrogen to prevent oxidation during high-temperature annealing. Carefully managed heating within a muffle or bell furnace, combined with precise temperature control, preserves surface integrity and delivers a mirror or bright finish to the processed stainless steel.
Q: What material sizes can be processed on this annealing line?
A: Our bright annealing line processes stainless steel tubes with diameters from 6 mm to 114 mm and wall thicknesses ranging from 0.4 mm to 5 mm. It supports both strip and coil configurations for versatile applications.
Q: When should I choose water cooling versus forced air cooling in the process?
A: Water cooling is recommended for thicker or larger tubes requiring faster cooling rates, while forced air cooling is suitable for lighter gauges or when a gentler cooling process is preferable. Selection depends on material thickness, product specifications, and end-use requirements.
Q: Where can this bright annealing line be installed, and do you offer installation support?
A: This system is suitable for installation in any industrial stainless steel processing facility. We offer comprehensive installation services, optimizing setup according to your production layout and requirements, ensuring seamless integration and start-up.
Q: What are the benefits of using a protective gas atmosphere during annealing?
A: The use of hydrogen or nitrogen as a protective atmosphere prevents surface oxidation (scaling) during annealing. This leads to a bright, oxidation-free surface, reduces the need for post-process cleaning, and preserves the corrosion-resistant qualities of stainless steel.
Q: How does the PLC-controlled system with HMI enhance the annealing process?
A: PLC controls with HMI touchscreen allow operators to monitor and adjust process parameters in real-time, improving accuracy, traceability, and safety. Automation helps maintain consistent product quality and minimizes human error for efficient continuous operation.
Q: What safety features are included to protect operators and maintain safe operation?
A: The system is equipped with integrated gas detection and interlock mechanisms that ensure immediate response to leakages or operational deviations. These safety measures help minimize risks associated with hydrogen or nitrogen atmospheres and overall high-temperature operations.
